Cross Stitch Flowers project on Blue Burlap

Last summer I was immediately captivated by this beautiful flower bouquet from Cross Stitcher magazine Issue 293 Summer 2015.  It took me a few trips to Joann Fabric's to finally find it and get it!!! I browsed its colorful pages many times dreaming about making this design, just dreaming. It wasn't till I found The Snowflower Diaries blog that my dreams came true and found the inspiration to actually START.

On our last visit to Cuba, back in August 2015, my mother in law gave me a burlap purse she had been making long long time ago. She used to make them and sell them. I was very happy she let me contribute on this project, it will be as if we both worked on it together. I think Paola will enjoy having something made my her grandmother and her mom..... It is almost complete, not sure I will make it into a purse or use it as a table runner.
The little alpaca on top, is a present from my son, he got it for me at the Magic City Comic Con event a couple of weeks ago. Isn't it beautiful?
