Ombré necklace with Colonial or French knots

I found this necklace at Joann's on clearance and HAD to buy it! A few, well more than a few, knots later I  completed this necklace. The colors where from my embroidery thread stash, turquoise, green, pink and red....do you like it?

Once I finished with the embroidery, I cut a piece of felt in the same shape and
used it to cover the back. Finally, used my glue gun to stick it to the metal frame.

Christmas painted baubles

My niece Mercy gave me a beautiful hand painted Christmas bauble as a present! Pao and I could not resist and gave it a try less than a week later, here are the results. You basically squirt some acrylic paint inside the empty bauble and make sure all the surface is covered. Then, you let it dry for a couple of days..and ta dah! you are done!

Happy New Year! Crochet Amigurumi Mushroom

My dear friend Misa really liked the mushrooms, so I finally wrote the pattern! The inspiration and original templates came from this blog, I modified it and crocheted it as a single piece (I don’t like sawing pieces together much…) Start with white yarn (or whatever color yarn your want to use for steam): Round 1: using the “adjustable ring” method make 6 single crochet (sc) 6 sc Round 2: increase 1 sc in each sc. 12 sc Round 3: *1 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from *. 18 sc Round 4: 1 sc in each sc.18 sc Round 5: 1 sc in each sc.18 sc Round 6: *1 sc, sc next 2 sc together (1 dec), repeat from*.12 sc Round 7: 1 sc in each sc.12 sc Round 8: 1 sc in each sc.12 sc Round 9: 1 sc in each sc.12 sc Round 10: 2 sc, 1 dec, 4 sc, 1 dec, 2 sc.10 sc. Round 11: 1 sc in each sc. 10 sc Round 12: *3 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from *, ending with 2 sc in last sc.25 sc Round 13: 1 sc in each sc.25 sc Round 14: *2 sc in next sc, 4 sc, repeat from *. 30 sc Round 15: 1 sc in each sc, join red in last sc.
